This allows your muscles to repair and replace the damaged muscle fibers by going through a cellular process where the damaged muscle fibers are fused together to form new myofibrils which are a sort of muscle protein strands.

The repaired and replaced myofibrils increase in thickness and amount each time they are broken down which is the main reason for muscle growth.

The cellular process only occurs when you’re resting which is why resting after a tough workout is important to let your myofibrils increase in thickness and amount.

However, you should know that muscle growth only occurs whenever the rate of muscle protein breakdown is lower than the rate of muscle protein synthesis.

Hence, you should consider tracking your macros to make sure you get enough protein during the day.


2. Track your macros and eat healthy

If your goal is to lose weight before the summer, you should be in a caloric deficit. And if your goal is to pack on as much size as you can before the summer, you should be in a caloric surplus.

But how do you know whether or not you’re in a caloric deficit or a caloric surplus? That’s when tracking your macros and calories comes in handy.

First of all, find out how many calories you should eat per day to maintain the weight you currently have. This should be your starting point.

To track your caloric intake, you should use one of the following apps. I’ve used both and I’m leaning towards MyFitnessPal since it’s a cleaner interface and it has a bigger database giving you the opportunity to simply scan the barcode of your food instead of creating new foods each time.

Weigh yourself in the morning. Then, the next week or so, try to keep your daily intake as recommended by the online calorie calculator and weight yourself at the end of the period.

If you’ve gained weight, you’re in a caloric surplus and you should lower your daily intake. If you’ve lost weight, you’re in a caloric deficit and you should raise your daily intake.

If you’d like to increase the rate of which you lose weight, decrease the number of calories. And if you’d like to increase the rate of which you gain muscles, increase the number of calories.

However, it’s not all about the calories. What’s even more important is the macros you’re eating. Have you heard the word macros before? If not, it is essentially the three building blocks of nutrition: carbs, proteins, and fats.

Both of the above-mentioned apps allow you to set goals and track your macros throughout the day, keeping you on track.


3. Build your confidence

The primary reason to obtain a beach-ready body is to look amazing, right? Well, there’s nothing more attractive than someone who is confident about who they are and how they act.

Have you ever seen an insecure person besides a confident person? I’m not here to criticize people being insecure with themselves. I’m here to state that confident people are far more attractive than people being insecure.

Being confident isn’t something anyone can become overnight. It’s a long process – just like building your Baywatch body.

If you’ve lived your whole life looking for people’s approval and doing what they’d like you to do, you’re going to have a hard time changing things up.

However, working out and taking care of yourself is two essentials that build your confidence like nothing else. Nobody will love you before you’re able and willing to love yourself.

Start being confident today and improve your looks by miles.


4. Stay hydrated at all times

A big part of having beautiful, young-looking skin is to stay hydrated throughout the day. It makes your skin more elastic, and it’ll reduce the wrinkly process from taking over.

If you’re constantly dehydrated, your skin will eventually turn dry and become less elastic. Signs of aging will also be more visible.

Furthermore, your organs need water to work properly. Your kidneys use water to filter any toxic waster that might build up in your body. Hence, staying hydrated will help your body prevent urinary tracts and kidney stones.

Internal health is reflected upon your outer health – and the other way around. Staying healthy all the way around will guarantee you a better-looking body, and you’ll generally feel a lot better when you look yourself in the mirror.


5. Take care of your personal hygiene

Are you taking care of your personal hygiene? Really, think about it.

Taking care of your personal hygiene is in direct correlation with being confident, being hydrated, eating healthy, working out, and generally loving every little part of yourself.
