Staying hydrated is an essential part of being a human. Why, you ask?
Up to 60% of your body consists of water. Water which is essential for your organs to work properly.
Staying dehydrated throughout your life has some major downsides for your overall health and well-being, which is why you should most certainly consider drinking more water during the day.
Here’s five reasons why staying hydrated should be one of your most important goals for the upcoming future:
1. Ability to perform
It might be self-explanatory, but staying hydrated will help you think clearer and faster.
This helps you perform optimal when experiencing important parts of your life which could be an exam, work-related tasks, working out, etc.
Staying hydrated will not only help you think clearer and faster. It will also help you stabilize your mood, sharpen your memory and heighten your motivation.
2. Blood volume stabilized
Drinking enough water throughout the day will help your body’s blood volume to be stabilized.
Being dehydrated will lower your body’s overall blood volume, and your heart will have to work harder to pump your blood out to each organ in your body.
Normal tasks such as walking up a staircase or shopping for groceries will become challenging due to the lack of oxygen in multiple parts of your body.
3. Cool throughout the day
When you’re dehydrated, it takes a much higher environmental temperature to trigger your body’s blood vessels to widen.
Hence, your body will become hotter (and not in that way, no!)
Your body releases heat by expanding the blood vessels which results in higher blood flow and more heat transferred to the surrounding air.
This is why you’re becoming hot when you’re working out or doing any other physical exercise. You release hot air from the surface of your skin.
4. Better skin condition
Staying hydrated consistently can help the health of your skin, making it way more elastic and young looking.
If you’re dehydrated and never really drinking enough throughout the day, your skin will become less elastic and eventually dry and wrinkly.
So, do yourself a favor and drink to stay young. Nobody likes to become old looking – just not too much alcohol, right?
5. Healthy organs
You’ve probably heard it before, but your kidneys need water to filter toxic waste from your body.
When staying hydrated, your body will have an easier job preventing urinary tracts and kidney stones.
Do yourself a favor and stay hydrated. I’d recommend getting half a gallon water bottle to hold all your water throughout the day. Helps me stay hydrated!
